Every year, Islamic Relief makes sure your qurbani reaches families that need it most. Once more this Eid, we’ll distribute qurbani meat to some of the world’s poorest families. For those we reach, your qurbani means a joyful Eid– and relief from worry about finding enough to eat. Masooma from Afghanistan received qurbani meat pack distributed by Islamic Relief last Eid Al-Adha.
“My husband and I are old, and we have no family near us. Our food mostly comes from the help of our neighbours. We only ever eat meat if our neighbours have it, but as they are poor too it might only be once a month.
“I cannot recall a time in my life when we have been able to buy meat for ourselves. As my husband and I are now old, we get sick, and we have been advised by doctors to have some meat in our diet.
“Our clothing, food, kitchen utensils and medicine reach us due to the help of our neighbours. We have no complaints about our situation, we are grateful to Allah (SWT) for our lives, even though we do not live an ordinary life when compared to others.
“We received 5kg of Qurbani meat from Islamic Relief and we gave it to our neighbours so they can store it in their freezer for us. Alhamdulillah, this is so helpful and will help us for several days. This is the first time that we have received anything for Qurbani.
“I pray to Allah (SWT) that He blesses those who donated their qurbani and helped poor families like mine receive some meat”, says Masooma.
