Every day communities across the globe are in need of safe sources of water for drinking, washing, cooking, rearing livestock and watering crops. Yet for these millions of people, this simple essential is out of reach.
Raho lives in Somalia, which is dangerously close to famine alongside other countries in East Africa. Four solar-powered boreholes can supply enough safe, clean water for 4,000 people. This prevents the spread of waterborne diseases and enables communities to grow and cook food for their families.
“Water is essential – I use it for cooking, washing clothes, and washing myself.” – Raho
