Jordan Visit – Breath of Fresh Air

what a change of tone we had today. We spent time with the children of Syria, and what a contrast it was!

Today we were up bright and early and still feeling down from the stories of yesterday, but what a change of tone we had today. We spent time with the children of Syria, and what a contrast it was!

Their faces and smiles were a huge breath of fresh air and really instill hope in the next generation. It’s estimated that 6.5milliom children have been affected by the Syria crisis. Many of these are living in neighbouring countries, often orphaned by the war. We played games and learnt about the vital work our team are doing here, and the magnificent lengths the social workers here go through to bring normality to their lives. One beautiful moment was when we handed out sweets to the children and one child came running to us and gave all of us one of her sweets. A small gesture but so powerful, these people who have nothing have the biggest hearts. Haneen was one of those children who never stopped smiling, despite the harsh reality that winter is about to hit the tents she is living in. Alhamdulillah we are providing her and her family with winterisation kits this winter. But so many more children are vulnerable to extreme weather in the coming months and we need your support to help them.
